The North Face Style Summit 18', Sales Apparel Presentation

Summary

Project Overview:
In 2018, The North Face’s marketing team collaborated with me to design a series of presentation decks for a global fashion presentation. The goal was to introduce their latest product line to worldwide sales representatives, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to effectively market the new releases.

Objective:
To create a visually compelling presentation template that embodied The North Face’s brand identity while ensuring the product narratives and key data stood out. The design needed to balance consistency with flexibility, enhancing each unique moment of the live event.

Developed a cohesive presentation template that aligned with The North Face's brand ethos. Designed layouts that highlighted critical product information and storytelling elements. Ensured the visual design complemented the live event experience, maintaining a strong and consistent brand message.

The presentation decks successfully delivered a seamless blend of brand identity and product storytelling, empowering sales representatives to effectively communicate the new line's value to customers. The design received positive feedback for its ability to balance aesthetic appeal with functional clarity.

Style Template

I was particularly inspired by the challenge of leveraging white space as an intentional and powerful design element throughout the presentation. Drawing inspiration from social media aesthetics, I reimagined a mason grid structure to craft a seamless and dynamic narrative. This approach allowed the text and imagery to take center stage, while strategically integrating The North Face’s high-contrast brand colors to unify each keynote deck into a visually cohesive and impactful experience.

Visual Inspiration

When selecting visuals to effectively communicate the presentation’s narrative, a key focus was on celebrating global diversity within the brand’s social context. I sought to highlight the personal style stories of the individuals featured in the advertisements, while crafting a platform that authentically showcased the rich and dynamic spectrum of The North Face’s style identity. This approach reinforced the brand’s inclusivity and amplified the emotional resonance of its storytelling.

Visual Narration

The presentation’s uniqueness and allure were rooted in a seamless fusion of static and dynamic elements, creating energy and engagement without overwhelming the audience with dense text. By embracing a layout rich in negative space, I leveraged white space to craft a clean, polished backdrop that consistently heightened the visual impact, ensuring a refined and captivating experience from start to finish.

Adventure Driven Moments

Part of crafting a compelling story was leveraging visuals rich in color, a photo story that energized the presentation; bold, high contrast typography that editorialized the layouts when being seen either on desktop or large theater presentation.

Sale Focused & Influenced

Telling a compelling visual story is important, making it visually functional is equally important. As with many presentations, the nuts and bolts need a space to communicate. In the graphics, I used the colors in solid negative and positive space block style that allowed the information to better live in a very editorial presentation story while creating clear, uncomplicated, data rich slides.

Product Guided

Addressing the fundamental aspects of marketing and product positioning, opting for silhouetted models and figures allowed for a stronger emphasis on the content-rich sections of the presentation. This approach minimized distractions from the presentation itself. For instances requiring a compelling message, we employed a full image bleed treatment to distinguish it from the standard template pages.
